Fall 2018 Vista Restoration Project in Virginia & Visit to Nearby Cemetery

  This fall crews restored 26 vistas between mileposts 49 and 74 in Virginia. This highly technical work is done by an all National Park Service crew of arborists that come from as far away as Acadia National Park to help restore the Parkway's views. Join us as we celebrate 30 years of service to the Parkway! The theater at the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke will be transformed into a night on the Parkway under the stars! 25 Vistas Restored So Far with the Overlook Clearing Project

Arborists from the National Park Service Incident Response Team resumed clearing overgrown vistas on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Roanoke area December 4th through December 15, restoring 25 vistas and clearing 3,815 trees so far with this stretch of the project! It's incredible news for us, and for visitors to the Parkway.
