SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT The National Park Service, Blue Ridge Parkway is excited to introduce Project Parkway, a new annual volunteer event combining efforts parkway-wide! We appreciate the dedication and interest you've demonstrated to the Parkway, so we want to specially invite YOU to join us for a hands-on workday improving the visitor experience at campgrounds and picnic areas. It’s the 30th Anniversary of Music on the Mountain!

Soak in the mountains with some old time music! The 2017 Music on the Mountain Sunday evening programs begins, this Sunday, May 28 at 7:00 pm. Wildflowers of the Blue Ridge

  The Roanoke Valley Chapter of FRIENDS will be hosting a free presentation by the Virginia Cooperative Extension and Roanoke Masters Gardeners on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 5:30 pm, at the Raleigh Court Library. Barbara Leach of Virginia Cooperative Extension and Ellen Holtman of Roanoke Master Gardeners will share beautiful photos and information about the Blue Ridge environment, including topography, soil, pH, elevation and types of trees. Sunday Afternoon Concert Series Resumes at Humpback Rocks

Soak in the mountains with some old time music! The Sunday Afternoon Concert Series at Humpback Rocks will resume on May 28, 2017. Volunteers Needed for the Blue Ridge Marathon, April 22

  Did you know that FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge Parkway was the very first non-profit to team with the Blue Ridge Marathon? This race is the ONLY marathon that runs along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, and proceeds from this non-profit event benefit the parkway and a dozen local charities every year. Notre Dame Alternative Break Students Team Up With Joy Ranch

FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge Parkway’s Alternative Break program offers college students an opportunity to participate in volunteer service on the Blue Ridge Parkway as a substitute for “traditional” spring and fall breaks.
